Heptagon Systems HQ-Box2 is a series of rugged edge servers in a state-of-the-art compact Box-PC enclosure. Based on the Intel® Xeon® D-1700 / Xeon D-1800 LCC SOC, 4..10-core, the HQ-Box2 offers up to 384GB DDR4-ECC memory and an integrated 1/10/25Gb Ethernet controller with up to 8 ports. The HQ-Box2 BIOS rev 4704.6315 (dated 1/APR/2025) has been released and is available for download in the Support/Downloads section.

This is a major release that has undergone rigorous testing. The primary changes include:

  • Implemented microcode update
  • Updated to the latest Intel’s RC
  • Updated ME version to the latest version 204
  • Resolved several software bugs and implemented improvements
  • Resolved critical security vulnerabilities
  • Updated VBIOS to the latest version
  • Implemented automatic PCIE Gen4 bifurcation based on attached extension card (default setting changed to “Auto”)
  • Added additional CPU setting menu (including HT control)
